| DAVIS, OK - The Southern Oklahoma Sportsman's Club was ground zero
Saturday for some high powered fun and excitement. This year, the Davis YHEC
attracted twice as many participants as last year for a total of 16. For many, this
was their first time to participate in a YHEC. At the end of the day, four walked
away with trophies, but everyone came out a winner. After all, this event was about
more than just competing, it was about fun and learning. A few of these kids have grown up around guns, but have never fired a black powder rifle or likewise a bow. "We like to introduce these kids to new things while teaching them safety and proper technique. In fact, there isn't a single kid out here today that hasn't learned at least one new thing and had a blast doing it," said Paul Conrady. The overall top two Juniors and Seniors have a guaranteed entry to the State Championship, in Oklahoma City, June 3rd. Congratulations... you guys did a great job! If you too would like to participate in the State Championship, preregister now. Only the first 96 to register will be able to participate. Note, you must first compete in one of the regional events before you can register for the Championships. |
